About HNMUN:

The Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) is the largest, oldest, and most prestigious Model UN conference, founded in 1955, just a decade after the creation of the United Nations. Staffed entirely by Harvard College undergraduates, HNMUN brings together over 3,000 students and faculty from around the world to simulate UN activities, offering a unique opportunity to experience international negotiation and diplomacy.

HNMUN-LA:

In 2012, HNMUN-Latin America held its inaugural session in Buenos Aires, Argentina, extending HNMUN’s established model to the region. Since then, it has traveled to Brazil, Peru, Mexico, and, since 2021, Panama. HNMUN-LA integrates local educational and social initiatives to provide a distinct Latin American experience.

Throughout the conference, high school and university delegates engage in resolving significant global issues, gaining insights into UN operations. Participants work with other motivated students to advance international awareness and build consensus, all within a vibrant cultural and social environment.

Conference Locations in Panama:

  • 2021: Virtual
  • 2022: Atlapa Convention Center
  • 2023 & 2024: Latin American and Caribbean Parliament
In Panama, delegates also enjoy cultural exchanges, networking nights, and visits to local landmarks such as the Panama Canal, enriching their experience with the city’s nightlife and culture.
